Behind the Scenes: Autumn Trend Talk
Layering up in soft, cosy materials is the perfect starting point when creating any Autumnal outfit. This season’s models, Radija and Tom, shared their favourite piece from the photoshoot, the fabrications they couldn’t be without, and the new addition they’re searching for to add to their wardrobe.
1.What’s your favourite piece from this photoshoot?
The oversized beige knitted sweater with the open back. It’s so beautiful and makes such a unique statement.
2. What’s your favourite material to layer with this season?
I love cashmere. It’s soft, not so heavy, and I always feel good whenever I wear it. You can also find some cashmere pieces for reasonable prices!
3. What colours do you gravitate towards in Autumn?
This element of my style is changing at the moment. For years I wore black and a lot of darker tones, but now I’m feeling more open to brighter colours like yellow and pink so I'm trying to introduce that to my wardrobe. But of course, I still love an all-black outfit!
4. When it comes to coats, what’s your favourite length: cropped, midi, or maxi?
I love either dramatic long coats or short coats – I usually don’t buy anything in the middle.
5. What’s the one investment piece you’re looking to add to your wardrobe this season?
I’m looking for a statement knitted sweater – something relaxed and oversized with an interesting, eye-catching pattern. Something with ‘wow factor’. I can picture what I'm looking for, but I haven’t found it yet.
6. What’s the one Autumn shoe, bag or accessory you can’t live without?
My leather mahogany handbag. I carry it every day as a shoulder bag or top handle, and it’s so easy to just leave everything in there because I use it all the time!
1.What’s your favourite piece from this photoshoot?
The trench coat and shirt are my favourite. I liked the oversized fit of the jacket, and it looks really elevated paired with the classic blue and white striped button-down shirt.
2. What are your favourite pieces to layer with this season?
Baggy trousers paired with a top to lounge in. I don’t usually do a lot of layering with jumpers, I just keep it simple.
3. What colours do you gravitate towards in Autumn?
Always black. If it’s not black, then I go for brown or light grey.
4. When it comes to coats, what’s your favourite length: cropped, midi, or maxi?
I always go for a long coat. I think these pieces are more charismatic and bring more attitude to an outfit.
5. What’s the one investment piece you’re looking to add to your wardrobe this season?
I need to buy a new wool coat, ideally in navy, but I'm still searching.
6. What’s the one Autumn shoe, bag or accessory you can’t live without?
I’m not big on accessories – I don’t wear scarves, and I don’t wear hats because I like to show my hair! For shoes, I go for leather moccasins to last in the rain. For my bag I use my simple black tote for quick and easy days out, or my leather bags for 24/48 hour trips.
